Halloween has been quite the treat this year. My two baby girls were the cutest little bugs I ever did see! Oakley was a lady bug and wouldn't wear her costume without the boots. Kenzie was a little bumble bee. They had their fair share of trick-or-treating between going to the Hogle Zoo, visiting Cricut, and going to a few houses along our street.

The family carved pumpkins...well, I guess I should say, Matthew and I carved pumpkins. Both Kenzie and Oakley were NOT fans of the gooey pumpkin cuts. Oakley did enjoy doing the "Mr Potato Head" pumpkin though, since this was gut free. We carved a Mickey pumpkin just for Oakley. Our mini saw tool broke part way through, so it didn't turn out great, but it worked.
The Princess's made an appearance to the Zoo and that was probably Oakley's highlight. The second Daddy put her down when it was our turn, she ran into Rapunzel's arms without hesitation. Then off to see Bell and Snow White and then back again. I am lucky I got a picture since she was so sporadic going back and forth between the two. I can't even imagine what she would do at Disney Land! We of course saw all the animals too. Kenzie loved the water animals and enjoyed watching them swim by. The Polar bear was right up close, licking a pumpkin treat off the window. And of course, we couldn't miss the reptile house, as this is Matthew's true love. They happened to have Savannah Monitors and gave me the puppy dog look in hopes I would change my mind about having one. Nope. Sorry babe. I don't know that I will ever change my mind on that one.

My work, as always, went crazy with decorations and dressing up. I will admit, as much as I really wanted to be a part of it this year (my department did Hocus Pocus and I was supposed to be Emily) I was a party pooper. It sucks to be poor. But the place looked great and the different teams did an amazing job decorating their areas. My team did the one of the conference rooms as the Witches Cottage and actually pulled off a really good job. I wasn't sure it was going to happen since nothing had been done when I left work at 1pm on Friday. Oakley figured out the trick-or-treating thing really quick and ran from one candy bucket to the next. She was a pro by the time we came home and went out on our street. She even tried opening a few doors and we had to teach her patience. haha. Unfortunately, we lost McKenzie's wings within an hour of going out. We couldn't find them anywhere. So, she had to go out wingless.
Mom made hot wings and soup, tradition in our family, along with a cheesecake for Tyler's birthday which he isn't even here for, but it sure tasted delicious. I made Frankenstein Rice Crispie's which mom has had her eye on since she saw it in a magazine. And we have a giant cauldron of candy left over. We have a houseful of sweets at the moment. We will need to work extra hard to keep it from all the sweet-tooth's in the house (AKA my little lady bug and hubby).
Hopefully my little bugs are having sweet dreams this Halloween Night and no nightmares. When I went in to check on them, Oakley was talking in her sleep... "Goodnight." then when I covered her with her blankets, she said "Kenzie don't want it!" in a very dramatic tone! Silly girl.

A few weeks ago my dear sweet friend, Deedee, and her little boy, Austin were in town. I have been friends with her longer than any other friend. We have known each other since we were 3. We met at Cornbelly's and had such a great time. This place was amazing and I personally think it was worth the money. Luckily my two girls were free, but they seriously have so much to do. A playground with saddle swings made of tires, wooden play houses, giant legos and chess set, pumpkin patches, a giant corn pit, bounce houses, cow train ride...I couldn't take my eyes off Oakley for even a second because she was darting every which way. Kenzie wasn't feeling so good and she slept most of the time. (That night she was up throwing up all night). Oakley's favorite was the giant corn pit. We were walking up to it and she went from running to sprinting, yelling out "Sandbok!" It was quite entertaining to watch her and the other little kids try to walk through it since it was so deep! Paisley (Hunter's baby girl) sat quite content burried in it. It was fun to spend the time with Deedee and I am really grateful for the time we do get together when she comes to town. I miss her a lot and hope our friendship never dwindles!

Happy Halloween my friends!
